Buyers pay through the Service by card. Payments and payouts are processed by a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor; by paying or setting up payouts you also agree to the processor’s terms, which are presented during checkout and payout setup. UDrop does not store full card numbers.
Payment hold. When a buyer pays, UDrop holds the payment until the buyer confirms pickup by sharing their one-time pickup code and the seller enters it. The seller’s payout is then released to the bank account the seller connected during payout setup. Sellers must complete payout onboarding, including identity checks the processor may require, before receiving payouts.
Fees and tax. Listing is free. When an item sells, UDrop keeps a seller fee of 10% of the sale price or $2.99, whichever is greater, deducted from the seller’s payout; the exact fee is shown before you publish a listing and on every offer. Buyers pay a separately disclosed payment and service fee, shown before payment. Where UDrop is required to collect sales tax as a marketplace provider, applicable tax is added to the buyer’s total based on the pickup location and remitted by UDrop; tax does not reduce the seller’s proceeds. Fees and tax are itemized on every receipt. We may change fees prospectively by updating the Service.
Referral credits. (See how invites work.) When someone you invite completes their first UDrop transaction, you may receive a credit that waives the UDrop service fee on one future sale, and they may receive one for their own first sale. Credits cap the waived fee at the amount shown in the app, expire 90 days after they are granted, have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are void where self-referral, duplicate accounts or other abuse is detected. We may change or end the referral program at any time.
Cancellations and refunds. Either party may cancel before pickup is confirmed and must give a reason. The buyer is refunded the item price and sales tax, and the payment processing fee unless the seller had already confirmed a meetup time, in which case the fee is retained. Sellers who cancel paid orders repeatedly (three in 90 days) have Buy now and Smart Sell paused on their listings for 30 days, and canceled sales are shown on their profile. Agreed on a lower price at the meetup? Use Adjust price on the order; the difference is refunded automatically and the sale stays on UDrop. Once the pickup code has been entered the sale is complete; the buyer may file a Buyer Protection claim within 48 hours if the item is significantly not as described, and UDrop decides claims within 3 business days under the Buyer Protection policy. Otherwise UDrop will not reverse a completed sale except where required by law or in cases of fraud we determine at our discretion.
Bundles. Several items from one seller at one campus may be bought in a single order with one payment and one pickup code. Fees are calculated on the bundle total. Cancellation and claims apply to the order as a whole, except that a claim about one item is resolved for that item.
Off-platform sales. Canceling a paid order and completing the sale outside UDrop (in cash or by any other payment method) is a violation of these Terms. UDrop may detect this from account activity; such sales have no Buyer Protection, do not count as completed sales, forfeit referral credits, and repeated instances result in loss of the verified badge and suspension of both accounts.
Keep payment on UDrop. Paying or requesting payment outside the Service (cash, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App or otherwise) violates these Terms, removes all payment protection, and may result in suspension.
Taxes are the responsibility of sellers. UDrop may provide tax forms where the law requires.
